GAH! Red Neck Family-in-Law!

I have so many stories about the ILs.  The list goes on and on.

DH and I have been getting everything set up for him to attend school.  He has not asked his parents for help with paying for the fees or anything at all (he knew they wouldn't help).  They paid for their daughter's school with no qualms about it, but they won't for DH.  They don't want to lose their personal slave.

We, recently, had to pay a $175 fee for our application for family housing at the campus.  The day DH said that he had to pay that fee, his dad decided that DH should be paying him for rent, utilities and food in the house (DH gets food stamps and unemployment).  FIL demanded that DH give him all the money from his unemployment for this purpose.  Mind you, his dad makes a lot of money each month.

In April of last year, I ended up getting rear-ended, which totaled our SUV.  It was not in our name, as of yet, because we were unable to perform repairs to get it to pass emissions.  FIL got a settlement from it.

We wanted to pick out a new car.  OH NO, of course not.  He bought a 1994 minivan that had been sitting for 3 years, spending less than half of the settlement on it.  He pocketed the rest of the money.

He said that we could drive it after he drove it on a trip.  On that trip, he managed to blow out all four tires, and broke the axle.

We ended up getting a truck, this year, with our tax returns.  Three weeks later, the brakes went out and the truck was totaled.  Since it was DH who rear-ended something, we didn't get any money from insurance.

We ended up selling the truck.  Then, FIL had the gall to demand that we give him the money we got from the sale so we could "buy" the van from him.  Mind you, we already paid him for it with the vehicle settlement money that we didn't see a dime of.  Luckily, DH's mother stood up for us.  When I say "us", I really mean DH, because . . .

MIL called my parents, the other day, to discuss where DH and I were storing the bed that we received from her mother's estate.  DH and I already knew where it was going, and had told his mother this.

She proceeded to call my dad and "TELL" him that the bed was going to their house.  My parents have a small three bedroom and no garage.  My dad said, "Ok, we'll we have nowhere to put it."

She told him to just put it in his garage.  Keep in mind that she's been to their house and KNOWS that they have no garage.  So, I got the call from my dad, because he was pissed at being . . .

Apparently, MIL has forgotten that I specifically asked her not to give my children soda.  I caught her at it again, yesterday!

One of these days I'm going to blow up at her.  I'm of a mind to tell her that my kids think that my mom is the "best" grandma.  They tell her this every time she makes them pancakes/waffles/french toast.
