This is just a general complaint rather than a story.
My MIL is from a very small southern town. She never worked
after she got married. She stayed home and raised three boys.
Fine and good. BUT, she subscribes to the idea that men should
not lift a finger in the house. I don't think my husband ever
had to even take his plate from the table to the sink. She believes
that the husband is the boss and chief, and the wife should be subservient.
This is how she raised my husband!!!! Fortunately, he has been
trainable on this point.

I am so sick of my MIL that anything she does bothers
me. I don't think I'm unreasonable to want to run over her for
this. The woman talks with her mouth full of food. It's
revolting. Even if she's not talking while she eats, she makes
this sloshing-around noise in her mouth with the food, and I just
want to put a bag over her head. I really cannot stand this
woman.

I have the misfortune of living directly across the
street from my MIL (who is very nosy to begin with). She is
a gossip, and can contribute nothing to a conversation except some
tidbit about somebody. Anyway, our phone rang at 7 a.m. one
morning. She said that she noticed no lights were on at our
house, and she wanted to make sure we hadn't overslept, because we
had been out so late the night before. Does anyone else find
this bizarre and pathetic? Get a life woman!!!!!! Quit
looking out your living room window to see what we're doing!

I have had three miscarriages over the past four years.
During the third pregnancy, my MIL said to me, "You are doing
so well this time. Last time you did everything you could against
having a healthy pregnancy." When I subsequently lost that
pregnancy, she told me to, "look on the bright side", but
she never enlightened me as to what that bright side was. This
woman is an absolute IDIOT. I cannot stand her!
