Psycho Bird Killer

When DH and I were dating, we went to his parent's house for Thanksgiving.  They had a traditional meal of hamburgers, chips, and other assorted cr@p, and proceeded to nag my DD and me for not eating enough.  Apparently, a 2 year old should be able to AT LEAST toss back 1/2 lb burgers.

The next year, DH (DF at the time) had just returned from his first deployment.  It had been a really long year away from him, and I suggested that we cook and invite the ILs over.  They agreed.  This was our first experience making turkey, and it was kind of exciting for us to have guests and real dinner.  The appointed time for their arrival came and went.  The food was all done and starting to get cold.  We waited a while.  Then he called them.  Apparently, they had scheduled a cleaning job all night the night before, and decided not to come.  They couldn't be bothered to call and tell us -

For Christmas, he invited them again.  They lived about an hour away.  BIL (no license - DUI, no car - repoed) lived near them, so they were supposed to pick him up and take him with them to our house.  We, once again, went all out.  The appointed time came and went.  BIL called, asking if we had heard from them.  DH said that he hadn't, and he was a little worried, since it had started to snow.

He hung up from his brother and called his parents.  He said that when his dad answered the phone, he was obviously asleep.  They said that it was snowing, so they decided not to come.  You know, I wouldn't care if they don't want to drive, but HOW HARD IS IT TO CALL AND CANCEL?!?!?!  DH reamed his dad for the lack of courtesy, and then called brother back to say that they weren't coming.

Little brother got mad that DH wasn't ditching us to go an hour each way, in the snow, to hang out with him.  I said that they were never invited for any holidays again, since they were too rude to pick up the phone.

DH was on his second deployment, when his little brother called me to complain about the car that DH had loaned him, for free.  He even gave it to him with the stipulation that we would pay the insurance on it, which I wasn't happy about, but I digress.  The car was butt ugly.  But, if I had no car and someone GAVE me one so I could get to my job, I would be grateful.

According to little brother, it just wasn't good enough.  So, he wanted to buy one of our other cars from us.  To be specific, he wanted to buy MY car - the car that was bought and paid for prior to marriage, all by my little lonesome.  It wasn't the greatest, but it was reliable and it had a sun roof, which I was so proud of.  As a matter of fact, 11 years later, I still have that car, and it's always been reliable.  We have other cars that we drive most of the time, but it's nice to have a dependable car that handles well in the snow, when you don't want to tear up the newer and nicer cars.

So, BIL wanted my car, and he wanted to make payments.  He wanted to pay $50-$100 a month, for a grand total of $500.  I said, "Here's what I'll take - $5000 cash, no payments."  He said that it wasn't worth that.  I said, "That's what it's worth to me, and I never said I wanted to sell it.  You said that you wanted to buy it, and that's the price."  He got all huffy.  DH was floored that BIL had the audacity to ask me for my car.  I should have taken the car away from him for being so ungrateful, but DH said not to.

My BIL is an idiot.  He has 3 kids with 3 different mothers, but he was also briefly married.  DH thinks he had other motives for marrying her.  I was dragged by DH to go to their house to meet her because, "He's turning over a new leaf.  I really think he's going to do better this time."

When we got there, she wasn't around.  Little brother kept hedging the question of where she was, but finally said that she was in jail.  After I had enough of their roach infested apartment, and little brother was completely drunk (as usual), I gave DH the signal that I'd had it.  He told BIL that we had to go somewhere, and we left.  On the way home, I asked what GF was in jail for.  He said, "Failure to appear."  I said, "Failure to appear for what?  What was the original charge?"  He said that he wasn't sure.

We never did find out, but the marriage didn't last long.  She kicked him out for being a drunk (when a jailbird, who got her 3 kids taken away, kicks you out for being a drunk, you have a problem) and he immediately moved in with his GF!  Yes, he had one on the side, apparently.

My DD was playing soccer at the time.  DH had mentioned this to little brother, and invited him to come to a game sometime.  I don't know why he did that.  I can't remember any traumatic head injuries that would have caused him to say such a thing.  But, along came little brother, GF in tow, mad because he couldn't have beer at the church soccer league for kids.

Instead, he started chewing on sunflower seeds.  The land that the soccer fields were on was in the process of being developed into the new, bigger church building, and the area we were in was used as a play area for all the kids.  They rolled around in it, babies crawled, etc.  And, there's little brother spitting up a storm, and complaining about that b!tch, his soon to be ex.  I told DH that it was disgusting.  DH offered little brother an empty bag to spit in.  DH said that the kids play all over here, and that what he was doing was gross.  Little brother got all mad, grabbed his chairs and ho of the week in a huff, and stormed off.  All the while he was muttering about me.  I did get a dirty look from DH, but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't happy he left.

Signed - Wow, It's Trashy BIL
