We had been married for a year and it was Easter.  Work called and said that we had no patients, so did I want to take on call?  I said, Yes, but that meant that I had to stay home in case I was called in.  I bought a nice Easter dinner for us.  I told DH - he was still planning on going to his parents for dinner, but I could stay home.  Long story short - DH left mad and went to his family dinner.  Hours later when I called, MIL lied and said that he wasn't there.  So I called SIL's house, and she said that he wasn't there.  So I said, "Well, I guess I will go look for him," and SIL said, "I don't think that is a good idea.  So, again, his family was sticking their noses where they don't belong.

frequent fry her - going crazy Frequent Fry Her TM. - Going Crazy /Posted: 7-JUL-04
MIL claims to have no money.  And, as she is divorced, she comes to my DH for financial support.  He has 2 other brothers whom she could go to who are single and working.  My DH has a family to support.  We are only renting our home.  We are trying to save for a down payment.  We are on only 1 income, as I am at home with my babies.  She is an executive business woman, owns her home, and has her 2 other sons live with her (they pay nothing ), yet she still asks us for money.  She recently told me that she had brought an airfare for her other son so that he could have a holiday, but she told me not to tell my partner, as he would get angry.  I am angry that she has put me in a position where she expects me to be dishonest with my partner.  Should I tell my partner that she has money to waste, so he stops paying her bills?

Worst gift:  My MIL is always commenting about my weight.  I was 120 when I met her.  And, after I got pregnant, I got up to 180.  I had a hard time getting it off, and she would always point to my stomach and say, "Heavens, we need to get rid of all that!"  Or, when comparing people, she would either say, "They made you look like a stick," or, "She's not as big as you, dear."  I went on a diet and am down to 135.  This year, for Christmas, she gave me two 12 packs of diet cola, which she later told me that her husband got out of the dumpster.
