Worst gift:  I'm one of the lucky ones.  My MIL is a wonderful, caring, generous person, whom I adore and enjoy spending time with.  Of course, she has her quirks, but so do I.  The worst thing she ever did was fill our present house with all her "goodies" (her word, not mine).  This family is all a little nuts (19 years as a member has made me one of the nuts, too).  DH took MIL aside and asked her to stop bringing all the knickknacks down to our house.  We clutter it up enough on our own.  Thankfully, she listened.  OK, so she did bring down this huge, ugly ceramic frog after that.  But, to be honest, it's been the start of some wonderful conversations with friends and family.  Everyone should be so lucky to have someone like my dear MIL in their life.  Now, my DH got the MIL from he!!.  Yes, I'm talking about my mother.  But that's another story.

Worst gift:  I received a plate of biscotti for my birthday from my MIL this year.  The biscotti is hard and moldy.  I felt so embarrassed to tell my DH that I threw them away.  That was the worst gift I have received!

Worst gift:  For holidays and birthdays my MIL always buys me clothing that Paris Hilton should be wearing.  I'm 33 years old, been there, worn that.  She gave me clothes from the junior section clearance rack.  Furthermore, she buys the same types of clothes for my 32 year old DH.  I don't particularly love him looking like a gangsta - he doesn't favor it, either.  Our taste is on the sophisticated side, but she insists that these clothes are the hippest right now, and "they're" all wearing it!  Someone needs a course on CLASS!
