When DH and I lived in
a small house with no laundry facilities I had to do the laundry
at my MIL's. If I would leave it, she would do it herself. I am
not ungrateful, but I asked her to let me do it. She would ignore
me and do it anyway. Still, that's no big deal. The big deal came
when I separated my underwear out from the regular laundry because
I don't like the idea of her or anyone touching them, even my DH,
really. The laundry was full, so I told her specifically, "DO
NOT WASH my underwear. I will do it myself." I left on an
errand that she sent me out to do. When I came back, she had hung
all of my underwear up, all over her house, where my DH's siblings
could see it. She hung some up outside on the porch for the neighbors
to see.

Every time MIL visits
my house she compliments my belongings by asking me if she can have
them when I die. "I like that dress. Can I have it when you
die? I like your bike. Can I have it when you die?" !!!!!

Worst gift: My SMIL
gave me peppermint candy candles. They were pretty. They looked
like big peppermint candies. The problem is: 1. I have already
seen them at her house. 2. She then gave them to me for Christmas
and made a "fuss" because she "shopped" for
them. 3. They were repackaged to give to me (already seen at her
home, HELLO DUMMY). Fine with me. I put them in a beautiful glass
bowl that was given to me by a neighbor, with dyed green water and
poinsettia blooms, and lit the candles. It really was pretty (I
know, because DH said so, ha ha). So, I took pictures and sent
them to SMIL to show her that I was able to "use" the
gift that she thought I could not, which was her intent. She wanted
to give me something used and unusable (or so she thought).
