MIL loves to send pictures of herself!  She will send several emails with pictures of herself in the same outfit in different positions.  She loves to wear clothes that ARE NOT her age.  Every time we go shopping, she goes straight to the Teen section.  Some of the items that she wears are very embarrassing.

I need to know why is it that if DH and MIL fight for something not remotely related to me, still I get the blame.  Recently, DH told MIL that he is thinking about going back to school.  MIL informed everyone in the family that DH has ALREADY started school.  DH gently asked MIL why she did that.  She got upset and went on and on about how he was never like that before, and that he now hides everything since he got married.  "Don't tell me anything from now on that you don't want to be public knowledge."  Why I am being blamed for this?  DH was not comfortable with letting everyone know, as he still might change his mind.  It was not something that I would have bothered about, but it mattered to DH.  Now I am the one who turned him into a secretive person.

I keep seeing all these negative stories and jokes about MILs.  I guess I'm one of the precious few who were lucky enough to be blessed with a wonderful MIL.  She is a beautiful person, inside and out.  However, I must confess that it took me almost 6 years to see that.  Now that I see it, I find that we have more and more in common.  We joke around, listen to each other, and she gives great advice.  There are times when I'd be completely lost without her.  It's hard to believe that this sweet, caring, wonderful woman is the very person whom I feared most when I first got married.  I guess I'm just saying that maybe we should just give our MILs a chance.  She could prove to be a great friend.  I know mine did.
