frequent fry her - Civchic Frequent Fry Her TM - Civchic/Posted: 5-MAR-06
Here's another story from the wedding planning.  DF and I have a small hall that only seats 120 (we had a reason for wanting a nice intimate wedding, with our close family and best friends).  We figured that we would invite 30 friends that we chose, then 45 people from each side, which should have been plenty.  FMIL came back with a list of 78 people.  78!!  The best part is that I have a large family and had to limit it to close first cousins.  She has a small family.  This list was all old friends of hers, old neighbors, and DF's old baby-sitter.  Finally she got it through her head when I started to cross people off.  She said, "Oh, you meant 45 PEOPLE?"  I'm not sure if she thought I was talking about housecats, or what.

( I want my own Frequent Fry Her TM Page )

After less than one year of marriage, DH and I purchased a home all on our own.  We did it with our own funds and without any consultation from anyone, just as capable, responsible adults typically do.  Well, apparently DH's sister and her husband were feeling insecure about the fact that they didn't own a home after 8 years of marriage and mentioned this to my MIL.  Her response to them was, "Well, THEY may have a HOUSE, but you have THREE CHILDREN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  So supportive!!!  By the way, we couldn't care less whether they own a house or not.  We all have lives to lead, and we were just leading ours!  Well, currently we still own our home AND have TWO LOVELY CHILDREN, ordained by God himself, so I don't know exactly what the new competition will be.

Venting in the hope to finally "let it go".  DS's birth was attended by DH, and all of my ILs (MIL, FIL, 2 BILs, 1 SIL).  When DS was brought to me for the first time and I start to breastfeed, my MIL ran over to HELP him!  Photos from the day, taken by SIL (at least all the male ILs left the room) have my breast, my DS, and my MIL's hands!
