Someone please help me
be more understanding when it comes to my MIL (and SIL) and their
inability to show up on time. Their constant lateness has
started a rage inside of me that is barely controllable. When
they are late (and we are not talking about the acceptable 15 minutes),
and waltz into our home as though they are queen bees, pretending
that time has no relevance, it makes me feel as though they think
I don't have a life. What's worse is my DH's ability to always
see their side of the situation, whatever it may be. His mother
seems to have TONS of advice and snide remarks when it comes to
our son and how to raise him. I don't know how to properly
communicate with her - never have. We are friends, sure.
But the way she behaves is as though her schedule, her time, her
day is more important than mine. I am trying to bite my lip
and be a good DIL, but I can't stop fantasizing about telling her
and my SIL off. Please, I'm looking for some advice and support
from someone who really understands what this existence is like!!!!!

Worst gift: My MIL and
FIL have never given my DH or me a gift for either birthdays or
holidays - not even when we married last year. It's nothing
personal, they don't buy anyone in their family, GKs included, gifts.
But they always expect nice things from their kids. My DH
has always given them nice gifts for every occasion. I have
no problem with that until last Christmas when MIL opened the set
of glasses that we got them and commented, "These are nice,
we need to wrap them back up and give them to you for a wedding/Christmas
gift." She was dead serious. I am . . .
