I know for a fact that my MIL can't stand me.  She has this habit of calling my house and never usually leaving a message on the voice-mail.  If she does leave a message, it is like a "signal" message to my DH that she called and wants him to call back.  She says something like this, "It's your mother, click," and then she hangs up.  I guess she doesn't want me to know what she wants.  For months we hadn't heard from her.  Then, one day she stumbled upon DH's cell-phone number.  She called and asked him for money.  Funny that she had the home phone number and never called that.  Hmmph, I guess she is so against talking to me that she'd rather call the cell-phone  She called recently and my DH was in the shower.  His cell-phone was ringing and I saw her number on his caller ID.  Of course, I picked it up and she was so tongue tied that . . .

Has anyone ever gotten married or been to a wedding where the bride used another man as their chair for the garter?  My lovely SIL used my DH as her chair while she twisted her butt around, and the song "Stripper", by David Rose was playing.  It hurt me and I just found a sofa on the other side of the room and sat there, only to be harassed by MIL and FIL, who said I was ruining the wedding by sitting by myself.  How they noticed that I had walked off is beyond me.  They had two open bars and a lot of people there.  They didn't care that I was by myself earlier that day while they had wedding pictures taken, etc.  BIL even had a bachelor party on our wedding anniversary.  Thank the Lord DH didn't go, even though MIL wanted him there for BIL.

Worst gift:  MIL got SIL and me sweaters for Christmas.  Nice gift, you say?  What's she complaining about?  She said, "I hope it fits.  I got you an extra large!"  She then said to SIL, extra small will fit you?"  I was so embarrassed that she said that in front of everyone.  I am not a big person, either, but SIL wears a 0.  How do I know this, you ask?  MIL tells everyone, and whenever someone says that there is no room on the furniture, SIL says, "I am small.  I can fit there."

Signed - Extra Large for You!!!!! Nice, Real Nice!!!!!!!!
