I really don't know where to begin.  My DH is the only one (other than one other brother) out of 7 children who is doing anything productive in life.  He has never seen eye to eye with his mother, and I can completely understand why.  She is selfish and controlling, among many other things.  I have tolerated her because she is his mother, but recently things reached a boiling point and DH and I have had very little contact with her.  Of course, I am being blamed for this.  Yesterday SIL sent DH an email telling him to forgive MIL and not to forget who his flesh and blood is.  Did I mention that SIL is homeless and has been living with us, rent free, for three months?  She had the nerve to use the Bible and how Jesus forgives us all.  HELLO.  The Bible also says that the husband is supposed to cling to his wife!  I am just so sick of these people undermining my MARRIAGE.  I love DH dearly.  How can I get these people to understand and know that I AM HIS FAMILY NOW and . . .

MIL's reaction to me being pregnant has always stumped me.  She claims to love kids, and everyone around her just dumps their kids off on her.  But when she found out that I was pregnant, she was the most negative person.  A year and a half later I found out why.  DH said that until that moment she had hoped that he would divorce me.  What a wonderful mother, wishing her son's marriage would fail.  Isn't she just the sweetest?  Everyone else thinks so.

Worst gift:  DH and I spend every Christmas Eve with his family.  As my MIL was passing out presents to everyone in the family, she handed me a small box.  It was an ornament of How The Grinch the Stole Christmas!!!!  I, of course, smiled and acted as if I was not hurt as everyone else opened all of their gifts.  When I say "all of their gifts", I mean that everyone else received several nice gifts.  MIL was making a big deal about them as I just sat there with my ornament.  Thank heavens DH's brother's wife (SIL) was there and she couldn't believe what was going on.  The sad thing is that my SIL has more stories about our MIL than I can count.  She is mean, she lies, and she loves to mess with her sons' marriages!!!!!
