My MIL came to stay with us when my DH was ill.  She would always come up to cook for him.  I think the worst was when she came up and baby-sat while we went to counseling for our marriage.  She asked how our "meeting" went.  She could not understand that we were in marriage counseling.  Sorry to say, or not sorry to say, she is my ex-MIL now.  She could not stay out of our business.  Now, she not only can she cook for him, she can do it all.  I am done and on to a real relationship, one in which my MIL lives 2 states away.  We have not met and I have been married for 3 years.  Nice!

        Signed - Nice!

Worst gift:  My MIL gave me a special gift for Christmas a few years back :  A home electrolysis kit.  But, the best part is that I never asked for it, or even complained about unwanted facial hair.  So, the following holiday I got her a set of wrinkle creams.  She looked like she had to force a smile, but I got a chuckle out of it.

Worst gift:  For my MIL's birthday I spent an entire afternoon shopping for a thoughtful gift that she'd like.  She knew I had picked it out, as DH isn't so great with that stuff.  Fast forward two months to my birthday; and no gift, no card, not even a phone call from MIL.  How thoughtless.  She did know it was my birthday because we'd spoken about it just a day or two prior.  A few weeks later at a family gathering she awkwardly stated, "Oh, I didn't even do anything for your birthday."  I didn't even know what to say.  How the heck do you respond to that?  You can sure bet that. . .

Signed - DH's Birthday Never Gets Ignored!
