My MIL is as crazy as they come.  Every year we get our DD's picture taken with Santa Claus.  This year, however, that just didn't happen.  We were very busy and did not have the time.  When my MIL found out about this, she was an over-the-top drama queen.  She told us that she was up until 3 am crying and had to get up and take some pills to knock herself out.  She is such a lunatic.  She also calls about 100 times a day, which is annoying the he!! out of us.  In general, she is not a very pleasant person and she acts like she has the right to tell us how to be parents.  I am so sick of her BS.  I want to move to a different state, country, or continent to get away from her!

Back in July I posted a few stories about my BF's sister from he!! (known as a Cow).  I was writing about her hatred and jealousy towards me and how my BF's refusal to deal with her behavior was making me unhappy.  I have received a lot of responses to my posts, with lot of good advice and insights.  I would like to thank you all for this help!  It was very much appreciated and was a reality check that I needed.  I have since broken up with the BF, and now that some time has passed, a lot of things that were written in the responses to my stories make so much sense.  At the time the most common advice was to dump the guy and run far-far away.  I was reluctant to do that, as I really loved him and was hoping that things would work out.  Eventually I had to face the reality, and reading the stories on this website about some of the things that ILs do and the long-term effect that it has on people made me realize that this is not how I want to live my life.  So thank you very much for your help, and keep writing/responding, as this does make a difference to someone's life.

Signed - Thank You From Elly And Keep On Writing!

Worst gift:  Since it was just Christmas, I'll add that my MIL sent us a box that we received just yesterday (after not hearing from her for about 5 months).  The last phone call to her son was to start an argument over something she read on my blog,  Then she hung up on him because he wouldn't argue.  DH got a $100 gift card and the kids got books, a doll and hair things that fell apart once we put them in their hair.  I got some cold cooler bag that we might be able to use on the beach, if I plan to pack 40 lbs of food - it's big.  She sent socks that were left at her house, although we have no clue how, but there they were.  DH and DDs were clean, and mine were obviously dirty.  They even smelled different.  They hit the trash.  She also sent "beach towels" that looked used, and gee, matching washcloths?
