My MIL goes around opening accounts in my 8 month old DD's name without my knowledge, and my DH finds nothing wrong with it.  He will casually mention an account that has been set up in her name and doesn't understand why I may want to know about it.  My FIL has a habit of moving money around from his account to a GC's account to prevent paying taxes on the money, and I don't want my DD's account or her credit jeopardized.

Several years ago my DH, DS and I went to MIL's for Christmas.  We had found out the week before that I was pregnant.  Our plan was to tell her on Christmas that her present would be here in about 7-8 months.  On Christmas Eve I had a miscarriage.  DH told his mother, who immediately came into the bedroom and told me that everything would be ok because in her dreams, her youngest son and wife would have the next baby in the family.

This dates back to early days of my 3 year marriage.  The ILs loved to pick on and publicize my faults, as per their fancy.  Before marriage my DH was not fond of eating breakfast.  MIL usually makes oily, deep fried stuff and has raised her children 2 boys on an extremely unhealthy diet.  I, on the other hand, am very health conscious.  It took me some time to get DH ready for regular morning food.  Initially he only wanted a plate of fruit, that's it.  To my surprise, FIL called me aside, and in a serious tone asked if I think that a fruit plate is enough for HIS son.  He said that he had noticed what I was serving HIS son in the morning, and he is worried that I'm not taking proper care of HIS son's health.  When I replied that DH never used to have breakfast before marriage, so at least now he is eating something, he denied it and said that it was not true.  FIL is such a pig and a liar!  I told DH about FIL's accusations.  DH asked me to let it go, but felt bad for me.  The present situation is that DH loves the dishes that I prepare for daily breakfast, and has learned the importance of healthy eating.  But the ILs are suffering medically because of their wrong eating habits.  The interesting thing is that BIL (unmarried) eats breakfast on and off, and his food is not healthy.  MIL makes her usual stuff for him, but now FIL is silent, never blaming MIL for not giving nourishing food to HIS precious second son.  I guess that when BIL will marry, then FIL will spring into action and then the poor FDW of BIL will get his scolding for not taking proper care of HIS son!  As for me, I have stopped cooking as well as caring for the ILs, and soon will be staying at a place hours away from them.  I actually prayed for a different continent!
