My MIL is he!! on wheels.  We have never gotten along.  She is constantly putting her nose in our business and telling my stepson horrible things about me.  I have been dealing with her for seven years now.  My DH won't do anything about it because he feels as if he's caught in the middle.  He has allowed her to speak to me in ways that I have never let anyone speak to me before.  I have gotten to the point where I have had to tell my DH to get her out of my face or I was going to have to hurt her.  My advice to anyone having this problem to get out while you can.

My MIL has been a problem since day one.  I have always tried to be nice to her and do anything that I can to please her.  None of it has met with her approval.  I was talking to some friends one day about all of my problems with her and I mentioned the fact that she hated the movie "Monster-in-Law" because she thought it was totally unrealistic.  My friend laughed and said, "That's because it hits too close to home."  I replied to her, "Yes, well at least she didn't do something to make my face blow up with an allergic reaction right before the wedding."  Then my friend reminded me, "Oh, yes, she did."  I can't believe I had even temporarily forgotten about it.  Two days before we were married my DF and I went to the IL's house to pick up some of the stuff for the wedding that he had left there.  As I was walking into the house, I noticed a sign on the yard advertising for a lawn spraying company, which means that they just had their lawn sprayed, and I am very allergic to lawn chemicals.  I quickly ran inside and told them that I had to leave because I couldn't be around the chemicals if they were outside, or anything that had touched them (shoes, etc.) inside.  My MIL just smiled, "Oh, dear, I guess I completely forgot that you were allergic to them.  Don't you get a horrible rash from it?"  Well, yes, I did.  I had a big blotchy red rash all over my face.  With some cream, it faded some, but there are still pictures we couldn't edit that make me look like I have the chicken pox!

Worst gift:  My FMIL gave me one of those ridiculous fridge magnets with a picture of a pig hanging out of its sty and a caption saying, "I'm not overweight, I'm under tall."  Funny.
