It just never ends with her. Last year, we canceled our vacation
because she got herself so sick on her own stupidity that she ended
up in the ICU. Not being able to take my kids on our family vacation
was bad enough, but it also put our plans to have a baby on hold.
So, now that she is so selfishly wrapped up in her new serious boyfriend
and his family, perfect time to get away. She actually emailed
my DH, at his work e-mail address, mind you, saying that she was
offended that I asked not to be bothered unless it was an emergency
while we were gone. She also said that it's my fault that she doesn't
leave messages anymore, and to please forgive her for almost dying
when we had plans. She told him not to "boo hoo" the
fact that she is upset, either. I find it funny how she expects
all the sympathy in the world for something she brought upon herself,
but was unable to muster up any for us when I had a miscarriage.
Can't seem to come up with a lick of common courtesy, either. I
am so glad he blows it right off and sees her for the selfish woman
she is.

My MIL and I (along with
my other family members) went to a show one evening. During intermission,
there was a juggler who was also doing a magic act for the children.
MIL thought it was funny and started making jokes about his "(juggling)
balls". When he asked a little girl to be his stage helper,
MIL made the grossest joke. "She must love his (juggling)
balls!" My jaw dropped. This was a little girl she was talking
about! I thought it was extremely inappropriate and disgusting.
How did DH ever turn out to be "normal"? She thinks that
when DH and I actually start having kids, we can all sleep over.
Um, no? I have my own home to go to - only 20 minutes away! She
is so odd, no wonder she has no friends.

Worst gift: For the
past 4 years, every Christmas, my Monster-In-Law has bought me a
shirt/hoodie/pjs (some article of clothing) that says, "Cute
but psycho". I'm grateful that I get ANYTHING, because we
have a strained relationship, to say the least. But, still, I get
it! She doesn't like me! She thinks I'm nuts!
