My MIL already had grandchildren
when my DH and I had our first baby. MIL wanted our DD to call
her "Grandma", while her other GC called her "Nana"!
I told my MIL that our DD will be calling her the same name that
the rest of the grandchildren do!

My SIL (DH's sister) is
pregnant with her first child. I am really excited for her, and
I have tried to be supportive of her and show interest in her pregnancy.
SIL told me the date she would be going for an ultrasound to determine
the sex of the baby (she told me this info about one month prior
to the ultrasound). I made a point to remember this special day
for her. The morning of the visit, I emailed SIL at work to say,
"What an exciting day for you! Will you call DH and me tonight
to let us know if the baby is a boy or girl?" Her response?
"I've decided not to tell anyone until I can tell my parents
in person this weekend. But, several of my coworkers know that
I'm having the ultrasound today. So, if I decide to tell them,
then I'll let you know." Gee, thanks! So glad my DH and I
rank right up there with your random coworkers! I understand wanting
to tell your parents first, but your coworkers? This happened 4
weeks ago, and she still hasn't told us what she's having. Although,
we heard through the family grapevine that she's having a boy!
