Okay, tell me if I'm overreacting here, or if anyone has a similar story.  I've been with BF for 3 1/2 years.  I have gone to the family parties every year with him, and talk to his immediate and extended family.  His parents decided to host a party at their house.  This was probably the third one I've been to, so I pretty much knew everyone.  BF's mom saw me talking to one of his aunts, and said, "Hey, have you met (my name)?  She is (BF's name)'s friend?"  I was embarrassed and peeved.  His aunt said, "Oh yes, (MIL's name), we've met before."  Then his mom left!  I never go without acknowledging her anywhere.  So, it's not like she thought I wasn't there.  So, I went to tell BF, and he confronted her about it.  She said, "Well, I didn't know."  OK.  I was just like,"Whatever.  No biggy."  Next thing - I love to cook many different meals and desserts.  I have been making dinner for BF and myself for a long time.  His mom tried my dish one time and said, "OMG.  Where did you get the recipe?"  I said, "Oh, I just made it up in my head, and this is how it turned out."  Of course, she persisted and said that I copied a recipe.  Whatever, again.  Now, recently BF has been working for half the semester and he is going to school next semester.  He has a roofing job, and the hours are never the same.  It depends on the weather and if they get done.  Usually, he is gone before me, and no one is awake yet.  But, when I leave, BF's mom is awake, making breakfast for his sister.  I'm usually late, so I run through the kitchen, say good morning, and leave.  At least I acknowledge her presence.  If I don't say anything, then she doesn't say anything.  When I get home, she is sometimes there and she'll say, "Hey!  Did BF get to work ok?  Did he get there on time?"  I answer, and then I start to ask stuff about her.  This was happening every day.  I mean, who likes to answer the same question every day?  It's always the same answer, and I'm trying to have a good relationship with her.  It would be nice if she could ask about me.  Once, in the past, she had asked me to make something that I cook that she enjoyed.  So, I did.  She didn't thank me at all.  She said nothing.  I had made a whole dinner.  She didn't comment at all.  BF told her and she came up to me and said, "You know I appreciate it.  I shouldn't have to tell you."  Then, we talked about how she thinks that I don't like her and that I don't talk to her.  I said, "OK I know your family history, favorite color, the things that bug you, and what your daily routine is."  I named it all and it was right.  Then, I said, "Can you do the same for me?"  She said, "Well, yea, I guess I really don't know you."  At this point, I had been living under her roof for 3 months and I'd had deep conversations with her.  So, is it my fault or hers?  This has been causing a wedge between BF and me, because he doesn't understand why I'm upset with her.  I don't understand why he doesn't recognize it, and I don't understand why she can't simply say, "Hi," to me when she sees me.  Her husband says it's because she is in a bad mood.  A simple, "Hi," is good enough.  I don't need a full on conversation!  HELP

My new MIL is 70 or so years old, and she is a manipulator.  She even said so!!!  Her exact words were, "'I like to manipulate situations."  A police officer even said she was manipulative!  Anyway, she tries to make me look bad in front of everyone, especially DF.  She's the worst kind of MIL, the religious fanatic kind.  She forwarded an email to me, a week ago, about how Halloween is evil, and Christians shouldn't celebrate it.  Well, I'm sick of her sh!t and said, "Please don't send this cr@p to me anymore."  Well, I got loads of looks and a, "Don't disrespect my grandma," from people.  But, it's OK for her to bad mouth me, saying rude things like, "Wow, you're a jack of all trades and a master of none!  Just kidding!"  WTF is up with MIL?!!!  Jealous and manipulative - for what?  Her DS is gonna find love!  You can't keep it from happening!!!
