I don't KNOW where to begin, except that my FMIL is a WHACKO!   She blames me for everything that is wrong with her relationship with my DF.  Meanwhile, they ALWAYS had issues!  He can't stand his mother, and will defend me until he is blue in the face, which makes her crazy!  She thinks we are in a competition with each other.  This is not limited to her son's attention, as she wants to dress, cook and act like me.   SHE IS NUTS!!!  The closer it gets to the wedding, the worse it is!  Latest example??  She told a mutual friend, "I am trying to grow my hair for the wedding.  Wouldn't it be funny if it were longer than (my name)'s???"  WTF?????  AHHH, help me not lose my mind before the wedding!!!!!  Oh, and she plans to wear PALE pink to our wedding.  (Insert eye roll here).

My DH is the oldest of five.  He is 45, and the youngest brother (favorite baby brother, or FBB) is 30.  FBB is coming home from Iraq in February.  His tour was for almost 12 months.  MIL is so excited.  She phoned us, TELLING us that we need to come "home" (it hasn't been DH's home in 15 years) because she is throwing a big party for FBB.  He is single, has never been married, and has no kids.  So, we are suppose to travel 1,200 miles in 3 months.  She thinks that we have that kind of money sitting around.  The kicker?  It is the same weekend as our DD's 13th birthday party.  No mention was made of her GD, the one she hasn't seen since Christmas of 2007!  Last time we went there, summer of 2006, FBB didn't want the pulled pork sandwiches that she was making, so she made a second main dish.  When it was time for dessert, our DD didn't like lemon meringue pie.  She said, "No, thank you."  MIL corrected her and told her that she should eat what was served to her.  Oh, really?

Signed - My Kid Can No Longer Compete With The Big Baby Boy
