When I had our second child, a DD, my MIL handed me a plastic bag with a $5 outfit in it.  I am not a greedy person, but please, come on.  Show a little heart.  Put it in a gift bag or something.  A card would be nice.  When I was pregnant with my 3rd child, another DD, she went around telling everyone that I was going to call the baby "quits".  She thought it was hilarious.  My DD has blue eyes.  She looked at me and said, "Who has blue eyes in your family?"  WELL, I DO.  Considering that I have been her DIL for 10 years now, you would think that she would know that.  Not to mention, when we got married, she asked if someone was "making" us get married?  I just laughed.  They live 5 minutes away from us, and drive past our house every day.  But, we never see them unless we go to their house.  They seem to find it unimportant to invite us when their other 3 grandchildren are at their house celebrating a birthday.  But, yet, we invite them to all of our children's birthday parties.  They offer no help and bring nothing.  I hope they have a happy life, because they are going to need it when their DS's 3 children (their GC) don't want anything to do with them.

My DS was very sick with diarrhea.  I told my MIL that we were going to take our DS to the doctor.  She asked my DH and me if she could do some sort of stomach cleaning on him.  For people from my country, that is when you give the child some olive oil to drink and pull on the skin from their back.  I said, "No," because I just did not feel comfortable with him having that done, especially because he seemed to be getting dehydrated.  So, she took my DS anyway, and did that to him.  She tried sneaking around my back to do it, but I caught her.  When I asked her why she had done that, she said, "Well, MY son said that I could."  Bull!  My DH asked why she did not listen to me, and she said very rudely, "Well, I am sorry.  I will make sure to never lay a hand on your kids."
