My MIL is quite a control
freak. DH moans about her. When we argue, he goes ringing me up.
So far, in 3 years of marriage MIL has called me a b!tch, a liar,
and a thief. MIL once asked why I was having more DD's, if I couldn't
cope with the one I have. This was to point out that DD1, from
a previous relationship, is autistic. DD2 was 10 months then.
He!!, I can cope, and have good rules and routines that work. SIL,
on the other hand, has everyone looking after her kids, and she
feeds them chicken nuggets and chips, even on Xmas day. After an
argument, I found that I had miscarried. That afternoon, she flew
up to our house and said that she was there to make sure that SIL
got home safe. Bullsh!t. Why say it in the first place, if you
are not sorry for the loss, etc. I was 7 weeks.

MIL called my mother last week, wondering
if we survived the snowstorms. Then, she started whining that we
are keeping her from her GC. My mother said, "I know nothing
about this." That is, of course, untrue. But, at least my
mother is learning not to engage the crazy. I am finding myself
full of anxiety about the cutoff, because MIL isn't one to go quietly
into the night. I'm just waiting.
